The Shoals Praise and Worship Choir (SPWC) was formed as a result of the Tony Evans Crusade held at the University of North Alabama in the spring of 1999. This event was organized by a group of multi-denominational ministers who were seeking to bring unity among the churches of the area.

Responding to a request from the crusade committee, Fred Hendon directed a 300 member community choir that sang each night of the crusade. Since the choir wanted to continue to sing together, SPWC was formed.

New Year's Eve and Patriotic Concerts
Benefit concerts for the Foodbank and the Shoals Theater
Concerts for special events at local churches
