HISTORY The Shoals Praise and Worship Choir (SPWC) was formed as a result of the Tony Evans Crusade held at the University of North Alabama in the spring of 1999. This event was organized by a group of multi-denominational ministers who were seeking to bring unity among the churches of the area. Responding to a request from the crusade committee, Fred Hendon directed a 300 member community choir that sang each night of the crusade. Since the choir wanted to continue to sing together, SPWC was formed. Past performances include: W.C. Handy Festivals and the Helen Keller Festival New Year's Eve and Patriotic Concerts Benefit concerts for the Foodbank and the Shoals Theater Concerts for special events at local churches
